"David, I weighed myself today and I am down to 220 from a previous weight 3 weeks ago of 235. So in spite of my procrastination, debates and questioning the sanity of your advice, I took it and adapted it to my lifestyle. Thanks. Your subtle recommendations and advice played a critical role in this outcome, along with of course the physical activity training." — Richard O, Washington DC
“I know my workouts have increased my endurance because I was able to practice for an hour on the water with my dragon boat team without stopping to rest! I couldn’t do that last season, and being able to practice without “sitting out” has improved my confidence. It feels great!” — SBA, Washington DC
“I found David Franklin to be an absolute fitness professional. His demeanor is upbeat, positive and welcoming. The atmosphere that he creates is a total package. The music is adjusted to your liking. The conversation is encouraging full of health tips, both for your physical and mental well being; and intellectually stimulating. I always felt love and kindness exude from David; especially during the hardest personal training session. The personal training regimen that David designed specifically for me was manageable, but it was not a cake walk. My muscles and lungs felt truly worked out.” — L'Tanya Talley,Washington DC
“I have had a number of personal trainers over the years, and David Franklin is a stand-out. He is not just a great trainer; he is a great motivator and brings a wealth of knowledge from nutrition to healthy body image to all of our sessions. We have been training with him since August/September of last year–originally to get in shape for a good friend’s wedding, but subsequently because the benefits in increased strength, flexibility and overall health are so clear. Both my brother and I have high stress jobs, and making fitness a priority can be a challenge. Dave has helped us to do that, and we look forward to a continued and productive partnership.” — Nicola J. Lowther, Washington DC
“These last few weeks have been some of the most satisfying workout experiences of personal training. (That isn’t to say that Dave absolutely kicked my butt, too, but in a nice, motivating way.)I wanted to write and formally acknowledge how fantastic my experience with Dave has been – as a professional academic, with a small child and crazy-busy spouse, working out has been challenging, to say the least. Dave’s attention to my schedule, as well as his expertise in effective, time-managed workouts has opened new doors of physical fitness for me. I am inspired, sore, motivated, and feeling better than I have in years.” — Mary Smith, Washington DC
“Due to injury and illness, I had not been able to work out for over two years, prior to the start of my training sessions with Dave Franklin. Dave listened to my needs and goals, did background research, and devised a program that helped me get stronger and fitter. He worked with me and adjusted my work outs so that, in only a few months, I was able to regain a level of strength and fitness that I previously did not think would be possible. I thank Dave for helping get and stay healthy and active.” — Michael Crawford,Washington DC
“On Friday, November 09, 2007 I had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from the lower part of my stomach. After successful removal of the tumor and some chemotherapy and radiation, I was released from the hospital. At the time of my dismissal, my oncologist informed me that while he is able to suggest weight loss to some of his patients, “if I wanted to live, weight loss was mandatory and not an option.” Fast forward to January 2008 when I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. David Franklin. At the time of our meeting although, I was fearful, I was optimistic. As I shared with David my weight loss goals and the grave reality of my situation, he echoed my optimism and made a commitment to help me reach my life goals.
It is now July 2008 and although it has only been 8 months since my surgery and treatment, I remain cancer free. Since working with David, I have lost a total of 92 pounds! He has been more than just a trainer, but has been an added blessing to my life. His attention to me and my situation, coupled with his professionalism, support, motivation, accessibility and flexibility have been life changing for me. I can confidently say, that without David, I would not be where I am today in several respects, including weight loss, physical endurance, determination, but most importantly ALIVE and committed to my health. I will never be able to repay David for his impact on my life. I look forward to a long partnership with him and can’t wait to see what else is to come.” — Matthew Carothers, Washington DC
“A great personal trainer is such a rare combination: part cheerleader/part drill sargeant; part workout buddy/part expert advisor. I have worked with half a dozen personal trainers in different cities, and David Franklin is by far the best. Working with him, I have lost 20 pounds (that’s three dress sizes!), feel wonderful, and have a lot more energy. He challenges you, but he also makes it fun, and he really listens to your goals (in my case, inner thighs stubbornly resistant to toning) and helps you achieve them. He’s very knowledgeable about nutrition, too. As if all that weren’t enough, Dave is a very “together” business professional who maintains an informative website and who actually returns phone calls and e-mails promptly! Don’t be crazy — hire David Franklin! Wish I had done it years ago, but better late than never.” — Anne Folan, Washington DC
“David is an exceptional trainer. He is attentive to client needs, responsive to requests and works tirelessly tailoring routines to meet personal goals. In the six weeks I have worked with David, we’ve rarely performed the same routine. Each week he assesses my ability to successfully complete different exercises and adjusts the level of difficulty based on performance. This variation in routine keeps sessions fresh and provides new challenges. I am very pleased with initial training results and have renewed enthusiasm for working out regularly. I highly recommend David to anyone seeking a personal trainer. His professionalism, dedication and supportive attitude are admirable.” — Clifford Willis, Washington DC
“I have never properly thanked you. Yeah, I know it was just a job, but I really enjoyed the time we spent together. And, although it was sort of 6 months of hell, in retrospect, it really was not all that bad. And, of course, I am very thankful that you put up with all my belligerence. Anyway, thanks for everything.” — Yarek Smagowski, Washington DC
